BLACKIID / MEDELLÍN, COLOMBIA
03 / THE STORY
FROM BLACK DADDY
TO BLACKIID.
Michael Córdoba Vargas, known as Blackiid, was born in Apartadó and developed his musical path in Medellín. He began performing covers of his reggaeton influences before releasing his own music as Black Daddy. In a 2026 interview, he explained that Nicky Jam began calling him Blackiid as a shortened form of his earlier stage name.
During that period, he recorded “Por eso es que tú me gustas” with Nicky Jam and “Mi princesa” with Alberto Stylee, the latter featuring production by Feid. His repertoire also included “Regalo de Dios”, “Solo a solas” and “Pa Bailar”.
As Blackiid, his catalogue includes “Pa la Playa” with Landa Freak, “Solita” with Criszoul and the singles “Stories”, “Belén”, “Valentía”, “Leyenda” and “Dende”. His urban roots remain central as he explores new sounds, including the afrobeat of “Dende”.
